Polka dot tips - first try at colored tips!

This was my first attempt at colored tips and I LOVE them!!  My nails are finally getting long (yes, this is long for my nails, haha) so I thought it would be the perfect time to try.  I have been using Essie Billionails every day - it looks like it is working well!

I was going for a Christmasy green-on-green polka dot look.  When I showed them to J, he goes, "Cool dragon nails."  Dragon nails?!?  He thought they looked like 'dragon eggs,' which I promptly informed him did not exist.  He then conceded that they looked "kind of Christmasy."

So here are my Christmas/polka dot/dragon nails:

...and I'm holding the wrong bottle of polish in this picture!
This is definitely Irene, but I have Suvi on my nails.
Whoops!

I started by painting my tips green, using my french tip
guides and Zoya Suvi.
I used two coats on each nail.

Once that dried, I stamped each nail with Konad plate m45 using Essie Mint Candy Apple. I think this would have looked better with white polka dots. Also, the dots smudged a
bit, which is I think is because the polish was slower drying than Konad polishes. I'm still really happy with the way
they turned out - I can't stop admiring them!

Hey look: books!

I'm still working on final papers, and currently have 50+ library books stacked all around my kitchen table (I've abandoned my desk - I couldn't stand sitting there a second longer!)  The kitchen table is now my designated work space for the next 48 hours, at which point ALL library books will (somehow) be returned and I will refuse to write anything even remotely intellectual for two weeks.  Approximately.
Have a GREAT day all!!!

Thanks KONADomania and gildedangel!!!
I always thought colored tips would be so difficult to pull off because any mistakes are so much more noticeable, but these weren't hard to do at all. Expect more colored tip posts in the future :)

This is so great! I have to agree with the dragon nail comment. I would so totally do that though!

hahaha I have to tell J you agree with him, he'll love that. Once he said it, I totally saw it too! Kind of Harry Potter dragon egg like...
But I so love the polka dot Konad french stamp - I can't wait to do this mani again in other colors!
