Fly Away With Me

Lets Take Flight!
I was inspired (while barreling down the freeway) to do a flock of birds mani.  Nearly every time I see a flock of birds lift off of the ground in unison and begin to soar, first one direction, and then another, I am just so inspired by the beauty that they capture as a community.

My little community of birds is a bit messy, but I still really like this mani.  I think it is a lot of fun - plus, I finally got China Glaze Recycle and this is the first time I've ever used it.

I started by painting my nails with two coats of China Glaze For Audrey.  They I painted little "V" shaped birds with China Glaze Recycle.

And then I added more birds!

And finally I added some black birds with my Konad special black polish.  They are supposed to appear closer.

I'd like to try this again and make it a little neater if I can.  But I had a fun time painting!

Have a great weekend everyone!!

What a great idea! This is the kind if nail art I love! Subtle enough that you can wear it in everyday life and super creative and original.
Well done! Recycle is one of my top five polishes, just for the record.

Would you consider Recycle a gray or a blue? I thought it was supposed to be gray, but it has a blue-ish tint in these photos. Either way, I like it- I have a dove gray that looks great in the bottle but kind of blah on my nails.

Thanks April & Ashley! I really appreciate it :) I love Recycle too - I've been trying to get my hands on this polish for 3 months! lol. It's an awesome grey - looking forward to doing a full grey mani soon.

Liz - 100% grey (Recycle is what I used for the birds - For Audrey for the blue background). I'll do a full mani in it soon - it looks really nice. I swatched it on one finger when I first got it - I'll try to dig that picture up and post it soon. I'm loving grey polishes right now.

I don't usually like 'stuff on the nails' but this is really cute! Love it.

Maybe I was a little over zealous about the recycle-- when I look at the images enlarged, I can see that what looked blue-ish to me is just places where the base color is showing through. Looking forward to that swatch!
I wish I could say I was ever inspired to do something cool while sitting in traffic. : )

Thank you razberiswrl & Gildedangel!

Liz - haha, thanks :) I guess it looks blueish because the base color is blue? I'll do a full mani in it this week for you (maybe friday?).

Michele - thanks so much!!

Thank you L!!

Thanks DistantDreamer! Glad you love it :)

I love this! Some of my favorite manis are the ones that are inspired by real life things-- like your latest one for your dad's bday. LOVE IT!!

Let's see some cherry blossom nails and maybe some autumn leaves when the time comes... I'll keep brainstorming!
