Gradient Nails - I tried it!

So I gave gradient nails a try!  I've seen lots of great gradient nails on other lovely nail blogs, and they always look so cool I wanted to try it out.

I started out by roughing painting the tips Zoya Tallulah, and then painting two layers of Wet n' Wild Two-Timer, each time moving closer to my cuticle:

I kept layering Two-Timer, moving closer to my cuticle (so the color built up more near the tip of my nail):

Then I topped everything with Seche Vite:

I really like how they turned out!  I'm going to give it a try in pinks soon :)

And as promised, a picture of my Caracita being silly:

She LOVES to squeeze into tiny cat beds!

Wow that looks awesome! I can't believe that was your first try! So pretty. And what a precious puppy.

This is awesome! I like how you did it with different colours to get the colour gradient. When I did my purple ones I used a light base and then sponged a darker purple ontop getting heavier at the ends. I'm curious to try this now with multiple colours for a rainbow effect with your technique :)

I love it! I've been wanting to do a gradient mani for awhile, but my nails are nubbins and I think they'll look better/be easier to do on longer nails, so I'm waiting for them to grow out first :)

Thank you Niki! I'd love to try it with a sponge like you did!

Thanks Miss Vintage Vogue :) She's like my child - I adore her!

MusicalHouses - I have the same problem, ugh, why must we have short nails? Good luck when you try it!

I almost forgot to mention how gorgeous Caracita is. I love that pic :-)

I'm glad you like the gradient nails Necro! It was fun to try something new :) and thank you about my Cara!! I just adore her :) She has such an incredible personality - she is just an amazing dog and I am so, so lucky to have her. The woman who rescued her once told me that we all have that special pet (or a few special pets if we are lucky) and for me, Cara really is my very special dog :)

Brooke, I know what you mean about a special pet. I had a cat that I absolutely adored. I don't know why that was. He was nothing special to look at, just a stray grey tabby, but boy oh boy, he was my special four legged friend until the day he died. I still miss him to this very day. Just looking at that pic of Cara shows she has a fab personality. I really think that picture captured a special something about her. Please give her a tummy scratch and tell her it comes all the way from some crazy lady in Oz :-)

Necro, that is a really sweet story about your grey tabby :) I'm glad you have so many great memories of him. I just gave Cara a nice, long tummy (and side, neck, and head) scratch from you :) It's nice to have someone who understands how special a pet can be. In so many ways, they are like family (except they are always loyal, never complain, and eat everything you cook them! lol). Hope all your kitties are doing well! :)
