Hungary for my Honey and honey beer bread!

Don't you just love the name?  Hungary for my Honey is from OPI's 2002 European collection.  Am I the only one who thinks of Winnie the Pooh when I hear 'Hungary for my Honey'?

OPI Hungary for my Honey
Hungary for my Honey is a bronzed orange polish.  It covered well with two coats and applied pretty smoothly.  It has a medium amount of microglitter and a nice sheen.

no flash - and my 'hobo gloves'!
I cut the fingers out of these so I could wear them while reading, working on the computer, and polishing.  They have been so useful this winter!  They were around a buck fifty for two pairs at the wonderful Target.

The picture with flash captures the true color of this polish very well.

Since I'm wearing Hungary for my Honey this Sunday, I decided to share my favorite honey beer bread recipe.  The recipe is quick and easy and makes a great loaf of bread.  A fellow grad student (a vegan cat lover!) shared this with me:

Honey Beer Bread
Preheat oven to 350.  Get a mixing bowl and pour in a 12 oz beer -- a nice flavorful one, something fruity or nutty, but not something too creamy or dark like Guinness. I like Sam Adams Cherry Wheat for this recipe -- and a quarter cup of honey to make the bread a little sweeter. Give it a stir.

In a separate bowl, combine 3 cups of self-rising flour (or 2 cups self-rising, and 3/4 cups of wheat flour, and 1/4 cup of wheat germ for a healthier version) and 1 teaspoon of baking powder. Add the flour mixture to the beer (don't do it the other way around, it gets chalky).

Mix it well, make sure every little bit of flour is moist but don't over mix it. If you need to throw in a few extra sips of beer, that's fine, and then you can drink the extra beer.

Melt some butter (or vegan smart balance) and using half grease a 9x5x3 bread pan. Pour the batter into the pan. Brush the rest of the melted butter over the top of the batter to give it a nice crust. Bake for 40-45 minutes (until its nice and brown). Voila!

Have a fun Sunday!

ps: giveaway coming soon!
The polishes I ordered have arrived and I'm just waiting on one more thing.  So excited!!
