It's beginning to look a lot like St. Patrick's Day...

OPI Jade is the New Black with Zoya Verushcka

You guys know I - like everyone else - am obsessed with OPI Jade is the New Black.  It's amazing!  Zoya Verushcka is matte, but I put a topcoat on it.  I love the tone-on-tone look.

I get pretty excited about St. Patrick's day.  I'm Irish, I find four leaf clovers on a regular basis, and I love the color green.  But what is St. Patrick's day celebrating?
My class asked me this very question today.  I came to class with my green shirt and nails, some clover earrings, and my clover ring (I decided not to wear the pin... I began feeling silly).  So what did I tell them?  St. Patrick's day is a day to drink green beer and eat green food!  They informed me that they are underage.  I praised them on their sobriety.
But what, really, is St. Patrick's day celebrating?  Is anyone out there in the blogosphere celebrating it for something other than just drinking for the sake of drinking?  I'd love to know!

Hope everyone is enjoying the pre-St. Patty's day festivities :)  I've been enjoying seeing all the green designs!

From one far-removed Irish lass to all the lasses out there, happy early St. Patrick's day!

ps: I think I fixed the comment issue.  Thanks for the emails everyone!

Love it!!
I love St Patrick's Day too! I'm not really sure why, probably because of my dad, it's his favorite. He says that we're part Irish but my mom says he is lying and that he just wishes he was Irish :/ so I'm really not sure. Haha.

ANYWAYS. Your nails look great!!

It's adorable =) I'm amazed at how visible Veruschka stamps! I'm going to try this with Finger Paints Evergreen Dream, because they say it's the non-matte dupe of Veruschka =)

I love this konadicure! Green + that pretty floral pattern = win.
We don't celebrate St. Patrick's Day (except for the Irish pubs), but I'd consider it a great excuse to be immersed in green for a day.

I think I'm the only one that doesn't own OPI JITNB. Will have to see if I can get it one day.
Beautiful mani kiddo,

Oh, this is beautiful! I love these two together. I love St. Patrick's Day too, I always have...but then, any excuse to be obnoxious with green and I'm all about it! Green is by far my favorite color, haha, and St. Patrick's Day is a good day to go obnoxious with it. We won't even talk about my eyeshadows, too.

St. Patrick brought Catholicism to Ireland (and, according to legend, drove all the snakes OUT of Ireland).

Thank you Tierney - and I love that story!! hahaha

Trincess, I have used Veruschka more as a stamping polish than as a solid nail color. It shows up better when you put a top coat on it. I'd love to see Evergreen Dream!

Cah_nossovicio, Thanks so much!! and that is the part I celebrate too - the green :)

CucumPear, I totally agree!! Great day to enjoy some green :) Thanks so much!

Susie, I agree with you - sometimes its a good idea to wait on a polish until the 'hype' dies down, you know? then you can see if you really love it (instead of just that everyone else loves in right now). I have a few polishes that I bought because they were super hyped that I'm not a huge fan of anymore. But that said, I think Jade is a really classic color :) Thanks for the compliments!!

Nicole, hahaha, I'm all about being obnoxious with green!! I'm SO GLAD I'm not the only one wearing green shadow!!! :D

Thanks Tenns!

Kathy, hahaha, thanks :) I'm glad you recognized my dry humor, lol. Thanks so much on the mani too!!

MoLo, YES!! Now I remember - especially the snakes thing. I took an Irish lit course years back in undergrad and you just jogged so much in my memory (including reminding me that I actually took an Irish lit course, lol). Thanks for the knowledge :)

Thank you Niki, Twister, and Art of Nail!!

Happy St. Patty's lovely ladies!
