Shrek Forever After Polish Comparison

Warning: many pictures (and citrus fruit) ahead!
Lets compare polishes from Babbling Brooke's collection to OPI's Shrek Forever After shades.

L-R: China Glaze Tree Hugger, OPI Who the Shrek Are You?, OPI Ogre-The-Top-Blue, OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui

And I reversed them in this shot just to confuse you!
(Or because I was confused...)
And there is obviously no Recycle here... I've got my eco-friendly polishes all mixed up! lol
Basically Suzi Says Feng Shui is darker and has more grey tones than Ogre.  Ogre is more vibrant.  They are similar but far from dupes - and I'm a big fan of both.
Who The Shrek Are You? is nothing like Tree Hugger - but I don't have any greens similar to Shrek.  Michelle at All Lacquered Up feels Misa Green With Envy is the closest match, but she likes Shrek better.

index and ring: OPI Funky Dunkey
middle and pinkie: SpaRitual Shoot For The Stars

Are the oranges making you hungry yet?
Shoot For The Stars has more red to it than Funky Dunkey; Funky Dunkey is grape with more blue tones.  I was surprised at how different these two are.  I like them both.  Lots.

index: OPI Fiercely Fiona
middle: Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow

I couldn't get these colors to photograph right.  I did my purples, greens, and dark blues earlier the other day when there was great light outside, then made a delicious spaghetti dinner, enjoyed it, and of course, then it was dark out.  So my yellows and light purples were photographed indoors.
I'll replace these with better pictures eventually.  As you can kind of see in these pictures, Fiercely Fiona has more green than Mellow Yellow.  Ugh these pictures stink.  Of course, color accurate shots of Fiercely Fiona can be found HERE.

index: SpaRitual Thunder Road, middle: OPI Rumple's Wiggin', ring: SpaRitual I Am The Light, pinkie: OPI Rumple's Wiggin'

I'll be photographing this one again too.  Thunder Road is fairly similar to Rumple's Wiggin', but not a dupe.  Thunder Road is darker and dustier; Rumple's Wiggin' is more of a pastel.

L-R: China Glaze For Audrey, OPI What's With The Cattitude?, Orly Snowcone, Orly Gumdrop
Someone emailed me to ask if OPI What's With The Cattitude? is similar to China Glaze For Audrey.  For Audrey has a lot more green tones and Cattitude is more of a pastel blue.  These were all too far apart color-wise to make comparison swatching worthwhile.  I actually think Cattitude is a really unique color - surprisingly.  It is such a cool-toned true light blue.  I'm kind of obsessed with this one.

Let me know if there are any other colors you would like me to compare!

Awesome post Brooke! Ogre-The-Top-Blue looks like a color I would wear a lot. Well, I like all these colors but that blue just looks so bright!

Mmm oranges.

I so so nearly bought these in Amsterdam airport a couple of weeks back but I left them on the shelf. I'm quite glad, I don't think this collection is a "must" for me, although I love all the colours, especially funky dunky!

Ooh, great comps! Not to nitpick, but is that China Glaze Tree Hugger? Recycle is a grey creme. :) Killer photos though.

Thanks jaljen!!

Thanks Thriszha!! By the way - did you get my email?

Thank you Rhea!

Thanks Skulda!

Tierney, I LOVE Ogre-the-top-Blue :)

Rebecca, I'm totally into the funky shades (and into Shrek!) lol. I'd say the must-musts from this collection are Shrek, Ogre-the-top-Blue, and Cattitude.

Anonymous - thanks - and thank you for noticing that!! haha, I totally overlooked it. I guess I'm just thinking Eco-friendly, right? haha :) now that kind of makes me worried about the paper I'm writing... wonder what I missed in that! Do you mind proofing it for me? ;) Thanks for letting me know!!

wow fiercely fiona and mellow yellow are exact matches! And those dark blues look really similar too!

jo.frougal said...

They are ALL lovely!!! Thanks so much for you sweet comments, Brooke! Blessings!

Unknown said...

They are pretty similar, Kelsey but not total dupes. But like I was showing you - Fiercely Fiona looks a lot more green in the bottle! weird!

Thanks so much Jo!! You're too kind!! :)

Awesome, comparison of "Suzi says feng shui" and "Ogre the top blue", I see that they are close, but Ogre is far brighter, Thanks!

I think Michelle from All lacquered up said Bahamian Escape (CG) is a good dupe for what's with the cattitude. What do you think about it?

Unknown said...

Thanks Jackie!

Necro - which ones do you like most? I really like Shoot for the Stars; I Am the Light was kind of difficult to work with (a tad thick).

I agree with Michelle - CG Bahamian Escape is a close dupe for Cattitude, but brighter and a tad darker - unfortunately, no Bahamian Escape in my collection. If you already have BE, I'd pass on Cattitude, but if not, I'd say Cattitude is a really nice addition to any collection.

Brooke, I like Shoot For The Stars the best, but I've put I Am The Light on my list as well.
