Doin' the Jitterbug

I think my fortune cookie says it all

As some of you may have read on my Twitter feed, I have some ridiculously exciting news.  Remember that interview that I didn't say much about (superstitious me!) and that I wore my good luck polish for (I wrote about it HERE)?  Well it looks like my superstitious ways paid off - I got the job!!  Starting in the fall, I'll be teaching at a University!!  Yippee!! (are college professors allowed to say "Yippee"?).

So my giddiness has me doing the Jitterbug - on my nails at least!  I just got the new China Glaze Vintage Vixens collection and the polishes are all so warm and snuggly and autumnal that I want to put on mittens and hop in a vintage Ford... until I step outside and remember it is inching towards 100 muggy, humid degrees.  So instead I just painted a little Jitterbug on my fingers (and I'll have the first half of the collection for you on Friday - with much better pictures than this one, taken with my cell).  I'm very excited to finally have these to show to all of you, and my friend from tPF, Kathy, who was the one who first showed me shots of this collection months ago.  Plus, I seriously can't wait to try them out - not much compares to the joy of a new polish collection!

China Glaze Jitterbug

This is a seriously cool color!  Not ridiculously unique, but still ridiculously chic (hmm, that kind of rhymes if you say it out loud).  It is a charcoal slightly deeper than it looks in this picture with lots of awesome, fine glitter.  Another thing to say Yippee! about!  I think you'll love this shade much more when you see my much better pictures of it soon.

This picture shows the color a little better... but it also shows my very rushed polishing 'skills' much better too.  Sorry for the messy nails!

If I'm doing the Jitterbug, I need some hot shoes to do it in.  Which is why I picked up these gorgeous heels at Target for $12 bucks the other day (my sister also got a pair - right after she ACED the PCAT!  Way to go, Kels!!).  Not sure if I could realistically do the jitterbug in these - I'm still working on just walking in them - but my goodness they are cute, and I'm not one to argue with a $12 pair of heels!

I hope you all had a really fabulous Monday - a Monday fabulous enough to make you want to do the jitterbug too!

CONGRATS!!!!

That is so exciting! I actually just passed your future employer when I was in the area last weekend (I've never actually seen it before, despite going to the area all the time). You're going to be an amazing professor :)

Let's discuss plans to hang out ASAP off blog. I'm thinking sometime 4th of July weekend?

Congratulations! Oh, I'm curious as to whether ChG Jitterbug a dupe for SH Celeb City? Or is it sparklier (sorry I just made up that word)?

Congrats Brooke! You did it and that's fantastic. :)

I adore your new shoes - I'm all about sexy shoes and I have a couple of them with high heels, very fatal. But I have flat feet and can't manage walking on those kind of things (plus my feet get wounded easily by shoes). I end up walking like a dismembered stiff doll. And it's not really sexy. So my shoes stay in their box. And so does a part of my feminity.
