Grey is the New Blue - Zoya Kelly

Every year around this time, I start having this very nostalgic back-to-school feeling rich with memories and excitement.  The rows and rows of fresh new, colorful notebooks and folders, pencils, staplers, markers, lunchboxes - it all brings back so many memories.  I dreaded the end of summer each year - don't we all? - but there was always this air of excitement - who will be in my class? who will my teacher be? and of course, the notion that the start of a new school year was always a fresh start.  There was so much potential at the beginning of each new school year.

I get that feeling still; it has been so deeply engrained in me.  Walking through Target the other day with J, I just had to take a tour through the Back to School aisles for the feeling of it (on the premise that I was looking for stuff for the kids I tutor.  I settled on a pack of bright Crayola markers.).

Grey is so fall to me.  Fall, chic, and structured.  This mani was inspired by that mid-summer back-to-school feeling I get each year.  I kind of love it :)

Zoya Kelly

I'll have more to tell you about Zoya Kelly when I post the entire Wonderful review, but I can tell you that I LOVE this charocal grey/blue polish.
For the design, I used Orly Snowcone and my favorite Konad design, m64.

Did everyone have a nice weekend?  J and I took the dogs hiking yesterday and it was HOT.  We tried a few new trails, which was fun, although we encountered a lot of other dogs (which isn't great with Cara).  It was a nice, relaxing couple of days without much to do - I love that kind of weekend.

Have a great day!!

What a great colour combo. Yeah, I am a teacher and I always get that mixed feeling. Don't know how "real" grownups work straight through each year without that time to renew and enjoy summer weather.

Thanks Twister, o mesmo, and Shiny!!!

Thanks Apple Juice! It's a Konad design - stamped on my nails. Here's some more info and a tutorial!

I love this! This makes me think of a grey wool pencil skirt, a tailored blue buttondown, top couple of buttons unbuttoned, a chignon and heels. It's fall, it's chic, it's polished.

It's fantastic... who knew a manicure could be that evocative?

Thank you so much, Laura!!

Laynie, how strange - it reminded me of a grey wool pencil skirt too (and of these adorable grey wool heels I was eying up online yesterday too!). Thanks so much for your great comment!! :)

Wow! I *really* love this color combination!
I'm 48, been out of school for 31 years, and I too get that feeling with back to school displays. I always loved school, and my youth, it was my escape from an abusive parent. Had I had the opportunity to further my education, I would have been a perpetual student.

That's a very pretty combo. I can't get into the fall mode yet (not with this weather!), so I haven't tried the Wicked/Wonderful oolors yet. :p

This is so pretty...weird that you were talking about school, because it reminds me of a binder I had once with a print almost exactly like that. I love gray polishes, now I just need to buy some!

I don't usually go for grey, but I like it with the blue you stamped on it! My weekend was kinda blah - it was so HOT I didn't want to do anything.

This is one of the best Konadicures I have ever seen. Love the color combo and the understated but edgy look of it.
