Guest Polisher - Rachael & Rescue Beauty Lounge

Today I have a guest blogger here with two fabulous Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes.  Take it away, Rachael!

First off, many thanks to Brooke for allowing me to do this guest blog post.  I fell in love with nail polish only about a year and a half ago, but I have fallen hard!  Brooke and others who take the time and energy to swatch and share their opinions make my day.  Thanks, Brooke!

When Brooke messaged me to get address information to ship the Revlon Fantasy Lengths eyelashes to me that I won during her 2nd Birthday Blogaversary Giveaway Facebook contest, I was so excited about my upcoming trip to Rescue Beauty Lounge in Manhattan that I let her know I was going, and asked if she had been. She had not, but graciously asked me to share my finds with her.

Because of the higher price of these polishes, I went there knowing exactly what I wanted – No More War and Locavore (the rhyming is just a cute coincidence.)  I fell in love with No More War’s luscious army green when Vampy Varnish included it in her VV Top 10: Olive Green – but it had been discontinued by the time I discovered it...until Ji at Rescue Beauty Lounge thankfully brought it back!!  As far as Locavore - after perusing the RBL site, I was so drawn to it, that I knew that was the other bottle I’d be buying.

So, here we go! I’ve photographed the polishes with Playbills that I thought coordinated with the color/mood.  I am a theatre fanatic, and was happy to figure out something to do with the Playbills that normally just sit on a shelf.

No More War

No More War is what I would call an “army green” crème, but it does not camouflage!  Paired with the Playbill for Hair, my favorite pro-peace musical, you can’t help but feel the love.

Locavore with Emerald Fitzgerald

Locavore is a gorgeous multi-color glitter.  Blinding! Tiny pieces of gold, light blue and magenta pink.  I layered it over China Glaze Emerald Fitzgerald, and I think you can see why – Locavore pops on a dark background. I chose to picture it with the Playbill for Race, because the show is so focused on a sparkly sequin dress.

Here is a closeup of Rescue Beauty Lounge Locavore over China Glaze Emerald Fitzgerald so you can see the individual colored glitter.

This is three coats of Locavore all by itself – honestly, it’s gorgeous this way too (maybe a fourth coat to fill in the gaps.)

I did a bit of a wear test with the manicure – I intended to test it on a camping trip, but I was struck with strep throat and couldn’t go!  L

Regardless, I gazed lovingly at my nails while I was sick, and the manicure lasted beautifully for five days. No tip wear, and one self-inflicted small chip. I wore one coat of China Glaze Strong Adhesion Basecoat, two coats of China Glaze Emerald Fitzgerald, two coats of Rescue Beauty Lounge Locavore, and two coats of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

By nature, I’m more of a crème-lover, but sometimes a glitter just captures me. What do you guys think?

Thank you so much to Rachael for the fabulous pictures and lovely guest post!!  If you want to follow Rachael on Twitter (and possibly see more of her gorgeous nail photos), find her at @RachaelErin13.
