Candy Corn!!

Guess who is finally back?  My MacBook!!  (And, on that same token, me too).  Finally!  This not having a computer thing has been AWFUL (and I hardly consider that super-slow, teeny tiny thing a computer... I actually resorted to using J's cell phone for internet access instead of it).  But I was finally able to pick up my MacBook today - more about that later though, because today it REALLY feels like autumn, so I have a fabulously festive mani to share :)

Halloween Time!!

Today I created a Halloween-perfect candy corn mani.  I have wanted to try a candy corn manicure for YEARS but I thought it would be impossible.  But today I was just so excited to paint my nails because I haven't for more than 21 days (seriously!), so I knew it was time to try something new.

I started with two coats of OPI Need Sunglasses?  Next I applied two coats of OPI Flit a Bit.  I finished with a thick coat of white polish using the Kiss Nail Art striper.  After all that dried, I applied Seche Vite so that this mani will last all weekend.

And a little unplanned spookiness...
as I was digging through my polish bins looking for orange polishes, this guy jumped up at me.  I barreled out of the room screaming like a banshee, then tip toed back a few minutes later to snap a picture.  He's kind of hovering near the top of the container.  I tried to lay the lid back on like it was (in hopes that J could just escort my polishes and the spider outside in one trip) but he darted out when I tried to do that.  Yeeks... that is one BIG spider to be hanging out with my polishes.

I also took a few pictures of the start of our Halloween decor.  J and I LOVE Halloween; each year, we're the crazy house with all the spooky decor (we actually need to tone it down this year - last year some kids were too scared to come to our front door!)  We have skeletons and giant spiders and spooky statues throughout the house too (as well as the decor I love - cute, non-scary pumpkins and black cats).

The Raven is our nod to Edgar Allen Poe.

And on a separate note, Happy 6th Anniversary, Justin :)

I hope you all have a fun weekend!!
Pumpkin picking, anyone?

PS: this is only the start of the Halloween fun here!  I have a smorgasboard of orange polishes all lined up and ready to swatch, plus a few other spooky designs to try out!!

I LOVE this mani!! Too bad on of my nails broke off and I had to chop them all off, or I would be trying this mani on right now!

I love the post! I wish I had a perfect yellow to try and pull that off.

Spiders. The only spider I'm afraid of is a wolf spider because they chase me. Those are some ballsy spiders! I try my hardest to save them every chance I get. I picked up a huge house spider the other day that was chilling on my tub mat. I was so tired I didn't even bother with a cup. It covered my arm in web by the time I got it to the window. Yesh! Totally harmless though. *ramble ramble*
I love your halloween decor! I'd better drag mine out!

I have no idea what candy corn is; we don't get that in England, or at least I've seen it anyway! So this reminds of citrus, like oranges and lemons! LOVE your raven.

This is really funny to me, I honestly was going to do this exact same mani later this weekend/early next week, haha. I hope you will not mind if I still go ahead and do it at some point, I don't want to copy! :)

It looks great on you, you did an excellent job! And I love your decorations!

Thank you all so much for your comments!!

aww, Skulda, you're like us (although significantly braver - spider rescue without a cup? yeeks!). Last night, I showed J the spider living in my polishes and he bravely put the lid on the container, carried it outside, opened the lid, and ran back into the house. My polishes are still outside... lol.

Jade, that is so interesting! The mani does look citrusy :)

Jenny, I hope you still do this mani too!!! I'd love to see it on your lovely nails :)

I don't like spiders either. I once saw a spider at a polish shop I go to, and it was near a polish I wanted to grab...needless to say I didn't get the polish!
