Weekend Surprise

This weekend, J surprised me by taking me to Monticello (Thomas Jefferson's home) and Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah Mountains.  He wouldn't tell me where we were going until we had been on the road for an hour (which was really cute - I love surprises).

We visited Monticello on Saturday and it was gorgeous.  Here are some of the pictures I took:

On Sunday, we drove to Skyline Drive in the beautiful Shenandoah Mountains.  We took a trip there two years ago with the dogs and had a great time, and I've been going there with my family for years, so we were excited to be back.  It is such a beautiful area.

After hiking to the top of a mountain, J surprised me with this:

It was a wonderful weekend, and such a great surprise :)

:) Thanks jbrobeck!!

Stiletto, I was wondering how close we were!! If I had known where we were going before we left we could have met up. I'll be back up there next year (or maybe even next month, if we can find the time - we'd love to go up for more than a day).

GORGEOUS ring!! So. What, exactly, does that ring mean? Yes. I'm being nosy. AND - that whole area is so breathtaking! I love all the colors and the history. All we have out here are Indians. LOL

Thanks so much, everyone!! I really appreciate it :)

Meg, we got engaged years ago - like 6 - (we were super young) and realized we weren't ready to get married. So he decided to propose to me for real, with a ring and everything, when we were older (which is now). So now the real wedding planning can begin (although I think with our finances, that will still be a ways away). :)
