This past week, I've been doing a lot of the things I was putting off all semester.  One of those things was the huge task of reorganizing my office, which was overflowing with student essays, handouts, and books, books, and more books.  I found a lot of books to donate (and I recycled a TON of papers), but I'm most proud of how I finally organized all my books into categories.  When I first moved into this house 2 1/2 years ago, I threw all my books into my book shelves in this terrible, haphazard way.  There was no organization whatsoever, there we books behind books, on top of books, and even inside of books.  It was a mess.  This makes it so much easier for me to find the books I want to read or reference.

These are my favorite books (and some of my stamping supplies on the lowest shelf and the bottom drawer, which isn't visible):

Cookbooks, how to books ("How to Fix Anything," "How to Live with a Neurotic Dog") and all the books that didn't make it into "favorite book" territory:
(This angle makes it look like my book shelf is about to topple over)

These are the books from grad school and undergrad that I liked and kept (as well as a few of my "favorite books" that didn't fit into the "favorite books" shelves:

And there is also a shelf with books that I use now as a teacher and a shelf with books from grad school that I did not really enjoy, but kept anyway (after purchasing "Frankenstein" three separate times because I kept selling it back in undergrad, I learned my lesson).  Those weren't attractive enough to photograph.

Of course, I've also been polishing a bit.  I'll have some pictures of the stunning red I'm wearing right now later today.  Hope everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday (2 more days 'til Christmas!!!)
