Katy Perry Last Friday Night

OPI Last Friday Night
Last Friday Night was designed with Katy Perry for the new Katy Perry collection by OPI.  In this picture, I am wearing 3 coats of Last Friday Night alone on my top finger, and on the two bottom fingers I have two coats of a light OPI blue topped with one coat of OPI Last Friday Night.  Last Friday Night dries extremely fast (like most glitters).  It has a sheer blue base with lots of chunky glitter.

Two coats of Last Friday Night

I love the way Last Friday Night looks over the light blue.

In just a few days I'll be starting Babbling Brooke's 14 Days of February Pinks.  Make sure to check back on February 1st for the first pink!
Thanks for stopping by!

OPI Teenage Dream (Katy Perry!!)

OPI Teenage Dream

Teenage Dream was created with Katy Perry as part of her new collection for OPI.  It is a very pretty medium pink glitter in a slightly-tinted clear base.  It has a variety of glitter - lots of pink, plus some rainbow glitter and tiny sparkles.  I love how it looks and shines.  It's important to note that this polish is not totally opaque.  I used three coats and you can still somewhat see the whites of my nails.  It dried very quickly but was not fun to remove (use one of those polish soaking tubs to make this a lot easier).  I'm going to try this over a light pink polish soon (I think that is going to look so gorgeous!).  My mom has been doing all sorts of amazing polish-glitter combinations lately and I can't wait to try some myself.  Click on pictures to see more detail!

OPI Black Shatter

Happy Monday, everyone!  Mondays are always a lot better at the end of the day, aren't they?  This evening I have some pictures of OPI's new Black Shatter polish over Katy Perry's Teenage Dream.  Black Shatter is a lot like those shatter polishes from the '90's and early 2000's (remember those?).  I always wondered why they vanished, because the trend was pretty cool. So now we can have awesome shattered nails again!

OPI Black Shatter

For this manicure, I painted one coat of OPI Black Shatter over three coats of OPI Teenage Dream (after Teenage Dream was completely dry).  I made a video showing how the shatter works; check it out HERE.  Basically it shatters as it dries (which is FAST!).  I like how it looked over Teenage Dream - the glitter came through in a really cool, edgy way.

I can't wait to use this stuff next Halloween.  Thanks for dropping by!

Zoya Intimate Collection

Zoya Intimate
Spring 2011

Intimate, Zoya's new collection for spring is soft, sweet, and filled with lovely shades.  This collection has three different purple shades, as well as a soft platinum, a light gray, and a very unique green.  It almost feels like flowers and earth to me - the colors are all very light and feminine.  Like all Zoya polishes, this collection is free of Formaldehyde, Toluene, DBP, and Camphor, plus is it vegan-friendly.

Jules
Jules is a platinumy shimmer.  It has a really nice understated appeal.  I like the shimmer a lot - it's like a golden silver.  I used two coats for near-full coverage.

Dove
Dove is a light (literally "dove") gray creme.  It covered nicely with two coats, although it was a little thin and runny (unlike all of the other polishes).  I love gray polishes, so I'm looking forward to wearing this one more.

Marley
Marley is a pearly lilac with a bit of shimmer.  It is really soft, delicate, and pretty.  Marley covered nicely with two coats.

Caitlin
Caitlin is a medium purple creme with some grey tones.  It feels fresh and spring - I like it a lot.  Two coats covered great and dried quickly.

Gemma
Gemma is a really unique shade.  It's a medium sage green with bright blue shimmer and iridescence.  It covered nicely with two coats and looked awesome.  I love finding new shades like this - I've never worn a polish this shade.

Danni
Danni is a stunning purple with lots of silver shimmer.  This is a REALLY pretty polish.  It was opaque with two coats and dried quickly.

China Glaze Anchors Away - 1

China Glaze Anchors Away
Spring 2011

Today I have part 1 of China Glaze's new Anchors Away Collection.  This collection has a great, fun theme (I love nautical-themed decor and clothes), plus it consists of a really nice lineup of colors in a variety of shades.  With a variety of neutrals, plus bright pops of color in a ton of different shades, this collection definitely has something for everyone.  See the rest of the shades by clicking HERE!

China Glaze Below Deck

Below Deck is a very nice greyish purple creme.  I used two coats here and wore this manicure for six days without a single chip (I only took it off because I wanted something more neutral for my first day back in the classroom).  This is a really pretty polish and a very chic shade.

China Glaze Pelican Gray

Pelican Gray is a very light gray creme.  It covered nicely with two coats and dried quickly.  My sister wore this one for a few days and really like it.  I'm a huge fan of grey polishes (China Glaze Recycle is still in on the tops list of favorite polishes), so I'm looking forward to sporting this one myself.  I'll make sure to post some pictures when I do.  I just might do THIS manicure again using Pelican Grey as a base....

China Glaze First Mate

First Mate is a very pretty navy blue creme.  It covered really nicely with two coats and dried quickly.  When I first opened this collection, this is the shade I was instantly drawn to.

China Glaze Knotty

Knotty is a sand-colored golden shimmer.  It is slightly sheer (I only used two coats), but it is really pretty.  It is similar to OPI Sand in My Suit but not spot-on.  I like how neutral this shade is; I wore it to work today.

I'll have the other swatches of the other 8 polishes in this fun collection soon!

This collection will be available individually or in two adorable packs of six (neutrals and brights).  They are sold in many salons and beauty stores nationwide.  To learn more, please visit www.ChinaGlaze.com or check them out on Twitter at twitter.com/China Glaze.

NYE Mani - Cheers to You!

Here are some photos of my New Year's Eve (and New Year's Day, January 2, 3, and 4) mani.  This is Cheers to You, which is from their new holiday collection.

China Glaze Cheers to You
Cheers to You is a very pretty silver foil with bit of silver shimmer.  I used two coats here.  It wore really well with very minimal tip wear for 5 days plus.

Hope everyone is having a nice week.

Don't Break My Heart mani

Don't Break My Heart

For this manicure, I started with three coats of OPI Not Like the Movies (designed by Katy Perry).  When that was dry, I topped it with one coat of OPI Black Shatter, then I painted pink and purple hearts from Nicole Step 2 the Beat of My Heart (designed by Justin Bieber).

Justin Bieber - One Less Lonely Girl Collection

Justin Bieber - One Less Lonely Girl
with Nicole by OPI

Today I have swatches of my three favorites from the new Justin Bieber Collection.  I don't know much about Justin Beiber, so I have not been anxiously awaiting this collection like I'm sure some have, but I was VERY excited when I opened this box and started pulling out this amazing shades.  Whether Bieber helped choose these colors or a smart PR agent did, they did a GREAT job.  I don't have anything like the three polishes below and I'm really happy to add them to my collection.  What a fun collection.  Nice job, Justin!

I love that they used a

One Less Lonely Glitter

Beautiful bright purple glitter in a sheer purple base.  Dried quickly.  This is two coats.  Would look very nice over top of an opaque shade.

Me + Blue

Fabulous bright blue polish with loads of holographic glitter.  Covered great and dried quickly.  The holographic glitter doesn't show up too well in the photos, but it is really fun.  This is a very unique shade in my collection.

Holo is notoriously hard to photograph, but I LOVE how this picture turned out.  Click on it to enlarge it and see the gorgeous holographic glitter even better!

Step 2 the Beat of My

A very cute polish comprised of a sheer, shimmery base with pink and purple heart-shaped sequins.  This polish is designed to be worn over top of another shade.  I think it would look really fun over a light pink.  This is one coat to show the amount of hearts that you get.  I arranged the hearts using the polish brush.  Dries extremely fast.

As an educator, I love that Justin Bieber's One Less Lonely Girl Collection supports Pencils of Promise, a organization dedicated to building 100 new schools worldwide.  A portion of the proceeds will be donated to helping increase education.

These polishes are currently available at Walmart stores countrywide, although I've heard rumors that they are selling out fast (apparently they've sold out at 3,000 Walmart stores nationwide already!).  In February, they will also be available at Target and ULTA.
