OPI Touring America Fall 2011 preview

I think I might be psychic!  I have had this weird feeling that OPI was going to bring out a USA-inspired collection (maybe because we haven't had one since the mid 1990's), but I am very excited to tell you all about their coming Touring America Collection for Fall 2011!

Coast to Coast Classics
OPI Launches Touring America
Collection for Fall/Winter 2011

OPI hits the open road with a new take on classic style in the Touring America Collection forFall/Winter 2011. Inspired by Americana and cities with rich cultural heritage, the collection’s twelve shades offer comfortable glamour and wearable elegance for nails and toes.

“My recent road trip across the country sparked the creation of the Touring America Collection,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “Autumn is a time for reinvention, and these shades revive classic, iconic colors for fall, from cool heather, khaki and chocolate to warm rose, peach and red.”

The season’s go-to shades of taupe and pearl grey appear in variations from dark to light – A-taupe the Space NeedleGet in the Expresso LaneFrench Quarter for Your Thoughts, and Suzi Takes the Wheel.  Lush urban neutrals in deep sapphire (Road House Blues), rich raisin (Honk If You Love OPI), chic olive (Uh-oh Roll Down the Window), and coffee brown (I Brake for Manicures) merge with iconic red (Color to Diner For), vivid rose (My Address is “Hollywood”), and luminous coral and orange (I Eat Mainely LobsterAre We There Yet?) for an expansive color landscape.

“This collection will take women around the world on the ultimate tour across the USA, with stops in Baltimore, Clarksdale, Hollywood, Jackson Hole, Memphis, Milwaukee, New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, Seattle, St. Louis, and Tucson,” explains Suzi. “Together, the locales that inspired Touring America make up a rich palette of color complementing trends from the runway, where we saw a mix of feminine details and dramatic menswear touches.”
Touring America includes the following shades:

Don’t make me reach back there and take that perfect melon shade!

It's always hard to tell with these initial pictures, but I think this looks like a GREAT collection!  I'm especially excited about I Eat Mainely Lobster, My Address is "Hollywood," Road House Blues, and French Quarter for Your Thoughts.  Which shades are you interested in?

OPI Femme De Cirque - SoftShades Spring 2011

OPI's newest SoftShades Collection, Femme De Cirque, launches on April 1, 2011 and it is filled with soft, feminine shades with fun Circus-inspired names.  This collection of wear-anywhere shades is perfect for spring.

In the Spot-light Pink, Step Right Up, So Many Clowns... So Little Time, I Juggle... Men

In the Spot-light Pink

In the Spot-light Pink looks like the most pigmented shade in the bottle, but it is actually a very sheer jelly.  It gives a very pretty, subtle, work-friendly wash of pink.  I used three very fast-drying coats.

In the Spot-light pink (indoor, indirect sunlight)

Step Right Up

Step Right Up was the most opaque of the four polishes.  It is a very light pink creme that gave a nearly-opaque finish with two coats.  I really like this one.

Step Right Up (indoor, indirect sunlight)

So Many Clowns... So Little Time

So Many Clowns... So Little Time is a semi-sheer nude polish with hints of pale pink.  I used three coats for semi-opaque coverage.

So Many Clown... So Little Time

I Juggle... Men

This one clearly doesn't look like much without a base color under it.  I Juggle... Men is a clear top coat with lots of beautiful microshimmer.  It gives a very pretty, subtle shimmer.

All four of these polishes dried very quickly.  I think this is a really nice lineup of SoftShades (I love light pinks) and I think the incorporation of a shimmery topcoat is a fun addition to the group.
Femme De Cirque will be available on April 1 in stores and salons where OPI polishes are sold.

Which one of these pretty shades is your favorite?

Guess that Green - Reveal Time!

I thought these three greens would be pretty tough to guess, but you polish lovers are GOOD!

On Tuesday, I had a polish from OPI's new Texas Collection, Don't Mess With OPI.

On Wednesday, I had the beautiful and still very popular OPI Jade is the New Black (you guys really nailed this one!)

And today, I wore the PERFECT St. Patty's green: China Glaze Starboard.  Sorry for the weird picture - I was wearing my wrist brace.

I hope everyone had a nice St. Patrick's Day, and thanks for playing along with the guesses!  I really enjoyed this :)

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!

Today I have the third 'mystery' green.  You all had some very confident guesses yesterday (I've got to say - you all know your polishes!).  Tonight I'll post the results of the three colors :)

So which green do you think this is?  OPI Don't Mess with OPI, China Glaze Starboard, or OPI Jade is the New Black?

OPI Don't Mess with OPI, China Glaze Starboard, OPI Jade is the New Black

This is the shamrock J got me.  Isn't it beautiful?  I have two others, but they are looking a bit scrubby right now since the cats have been munching on them all winter (and as you can see, the cats are already getting into this one!).

What are your St. Patrick's Day traditions?  Do you have any fun plans for tonight?
My traditions have always included green food - dying the milk green, making green mashed potatoes (with a side of broccoli!), although my parents have always made corned beef and cabbage, so tonight I'm making some cabbage with potato wedges and homemade pizza with a spinach and basil crust (had to get that green in there somehow!).  One of my biggest traditions is wearing green clothes though (and clover jewelry!).  I've been wearing green all week!  I'll try to get a picture of my outfit this afternoon to post.

Have a great St. Patty's Day, hopefully filled with lots of good luck and pots of gold :)

Shattered Shamrock

Shattered Shamrock!

Today I have an awesome manicure with China Glaze's new Crackle Glaze (I am so obsessed with this new line!).  Today I have two coats of one of our mystery greens on (the one from yesterday) topped with one thick coat of China Glaze Lightening Bolt.  It is very important that you wait until your base coat is dry before applying Crackle Glaze, but once you apply it, the cool cracks and shatters form almost immediately.

Later today I'll have pictures of our third mystery green, and tonight I'll post the results!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!

Guess that Green!!

Thanks for all the great comments yesterday, everyone!  I really enjoying checking the guesses throughout the day :)  Most people guessed Jade is the New Black, but there were a few guesses for Don't Mess with OPI.  I'll reveal all three colors tomorrow!

Today I have another one of the three greens:

Which green do you think this is?  The colors to choose from are:
OPI Don't Mess with OPIChina Glaze Starboard, & OPI Jade is the New Black

Happy almost St. Patty's Day!

Go Green!! Take Your Guess

I love St. Patrick's Day, and not just because it is a great excuse to wear clover jewelry and green clothing all week.  For the next three days, I have three of my favorite greens.  Each day I'll try out a new green, either OPI Don't Mess with OPIChina Glaze Starboard, or OPI Jade is the New Black, and you can guess which one I'm wearing!  These three looked so similar - let's see how similar they look on nails!

OPI Don't Mess with OPI, China Glaze Starboard, OPI Jade is the New Black

Take your guess - is this OPI Don't Mess with OPIChina Glaze Starboard, or OPI Jade is the New Black?

For the clover, I used Nicole Not a Gold Bigger.

I'll have one of the other greens tomorrow - and I'll reveal all the answers on Thursday!

Spring Forward!

Spring is near - or at least it is starting to feel close, especially with daylight savings time yesterday.  This bright manicure is my way of looking ahead to the warm, sunny days to come!

For this manicure, I used shades from China Glaze's Poolside Collection, as well as Zoya Jancyn.  I painted China Glaze Pool Party on my index (2 coats), Yellow Polka Dot Bikini on my middle finger (4 coats), Kiwi Cool-ada on my ring finger (3 coats), and one coat of Zoya Jancyn topped with one coat of China Glaze Sun Worshipper on my pinkie.  Once those dried, I Konaded leopard spots using plate m64 and Konad special black polish.

My fun inspiration?  This fabulous manicure that Vanessa Hudgens wore in her recent Candies photoshoot:
(And of all the ironies, I just purchased a pair of Candies glasses today... while wearing my Candie's-inspired manicure.  Weird, huh?)

So where could you wear this sort of manicure?  What do you think of my fun, bright, colorful manicure?  Thanks for reading!

MARDI GRAS!

I hope everyone enjoyed Mardi Gras!  Today I have some pictures of the mani I've been wearing this week.

OPI Simply Smashing and Zoya Harlow

I used two coats of Simply Smashing then stamped Harlow using Konad plate m64.  I topped it with Seche Vite, since Harlow is a matte polish (this brought out the glitter in Harlow more).
